Not His Story: Powerful Women, Unite!

".....when we grow up, we may think that we're the only person with the problem we face and no one can help us but ours. But the truth is, to find the answer on our problem, we have to meet other people and seek for solution from their experience..."

Satu pesan yang cukup melekat diingatan gue terkait dengan love life adalah, 'find someone that going to be 'on' because of your ambition...if he's going to be, then he's the one'.

I was very lucky to have mbak Hanifa Ambadar, the powerful woman behind Female Daily Network, as my mentor during the sharing session. I must say that having her as my mentor was the highlight of the day.

Sophia Amoruso benar, when we meet other people and hear their story, kita bisa menemukan jawaban dari berbagai permasalahan yang kita hadapi and finally able to say that 'I am not alone!'. Lewat Resonation, I realized that a lot of people have similar problem with me, even seorang Sophia Amoruso dan Clair Deevy yang sudah menjadi 'someone', pernah menghadapi masalah atau kekhawatiran yang gue hadapi saat ini, which is on identity, talent/skill, and career.

Dirinya juga sempat memasuki masa dimana dia merasa lost...not feel as good as others, as talented as people around her, not knowing what she good at. Then, she found out that she's not good at only one thing (just like others), but she's good at a lot of things, which was really helpful to build her own empire called Nasty Gal. She also found out her strength & weaknesses through that journey.

Me, Clair Deevy, and Tika (we actually follow each other on Instagram and accidentally met on the event!)

But then, by trying this and that, explore the world out there, meet new people, she founds out who she is and what she want to do in her life. That's why, with Facebook, she initiate #SheMeansBusiness, sebuah gerakan untuk para perempuan agar dapat berdaya lewat bisnis yang mereka ciptakan sendiri.

I realized one thing: kalau gue tidak mengikuti Resonation hari itu...i won't get some insights that will be helpful for my future.
Group 34 with Hanifa Ambadar! (and yes, I was in the same group with Githa Moran!!)

Dari sesi talkshow dan sharing gue semakin yakin dengan what's actually stopping me. It is my self, my thought on myself, my self-doubt on what I'm good at, what I want for my life. And by interacting with some inspiring & powerful women, I learned that I need to explore more, meet more people, and make mistakes to get the answer for my my problem. Mungkin bagi beberapa orang, apa yang gue pelajari dari Resonation kemarin adalah hal yang very common...you can google it right away.

Kalau gue merasa my self is the answer on what's stopping me, mungkin tidak dengan yang lain. It's good to have different perspective about women empowerment and knowing that there're some men out there that will support women to be success.

Banyak sekali insight yang gue peroleh lewat Resonation 2017, tidak hanya useful insight for my self development, but also for the cause that I support, which is Body Positivity. Sebelumnya gue belum benar-benar menyadari bahwa the cause that I support for the last two years is actually lead to women empowerment. But now, i know (and want to dig deeper) about how body positivity could increase the productivity and lead to empowerment.

Hopefully I can be as inspiring as Nina Moran.

I would like to thank Nina Moran for creating this event. Thank you for made a mistake that inspire you to create such a great & inspiring conference. Hopefully, your great cause will contribute for change in the future & i can take part on it.

Definetely looking forward for a chance like this in the future, so I can learn more, implement it to myself, and share to others!

Accidentally spot Lizzie Parra, superb talented MUA and a women behind BLP Liquid Lipstick

Met Ucita Pohan for second time and still....inspiring

PS:
After Resonation 2017, I realized another thing: Empowering women won't be success if we don't educate the men on this issue. So I made a promise to myself that I'm going to take my boyfriend to the conference next year, so he could get another perspective on empowerment. Because as the men said during the conference, man and woman are different, but compliment each other....so it's important to let them know our perspective so we can support each other.
